Mentor Tip of the Week - Re-Grouping

That's right!  It's DOUBLEHEADER night next week!

Due to the cancellations we need to play a doubleheader for the next two weeks.  We want to get them in before vacations start.

Coaches don't like not having practices, but players LOVE doubleheaders!  So....ENJOY!

RE-GROUPING - Whether you won or lost your first game, it's a good time to assess your individual and team performance and see where improvements can be made.  Also, if you did lose, make sure you bring a positive attitude to the next game - it goes a long way in turning things around.

TEAM PREVIEW

POWERHOUSE

image51

The Wolverines have great tradition and have always been a powerhouse on the grid iron. This team excels on both sides of the ball.

UP AND COMER

image52

The Spartans may actually be more of a powerhouse than an up and comer. Very aggressive on defense this team is always hard to play against.

WORK HORSE

image53

The Hawkeyes are a tough team - period. The word quit is NOT in this team's vocabulary on either side of the ball.

AIR FORCE

image54

The Buckeyes love to air out the ball. Play against this team and prepare to defend against the big air play.

BODY + SOUL - USING SPORTS TO BUILD CHARACTER IN YOUTH

More Than a Youth Sports League

Mentor Flag Football for Kids in York Region - fun summer time sport for youth

For 12 seasons Mentor Flag Football is proud to have used sports to build character in our players. We believe that by giving coaches the proper instruction they can ensure that the situations that arise during a game will be used to focus on character traits we want in our players. We do so by focusing on a key character trait each week, we call it the Mentor Tip of the Week, and we ask our coaches to talk about that trait with their teams.

Flag Football - The Perfect Sport

image55

Kids love to football - just ask them what they're play during recess!

Flag football combines the best in safety, training and strategic thinking. Each game is composed of a series of plays where plays are strategically planned followed by bursts of physical activity. And because flag football does not involve tackling it's much safer than tackle football while maintaining what kids love about the sport.

Excitement On and Off the Field

We believe that the flag football game is only one part of the Game Day experience. That's why we're very excited about our plans for our upcoming 13th season:

Tuesday Night Football

Ramp'd Up Rivalry Game Day

Tailgating Party

Featured Game of the Week

Cross Divisional Standings
